Rigid denials carved reflections in the floor
In beer drenched coats and thrown away inhabitations
Tussled hair and sweat soaked shirts
Throwing caution to the wind
Dancing to personified emotion
Your eyes leaking sonnets while you wake
Dazzled and unsuspecting in the absence of light
I mime your words with you
Tearing every inch of sanity to hear that voice
Dancing to the essence of life
Yet those words leak into my blood as you did
Circulate my deepest wishes and fears
Hair flung to hide my eyes
My laughter bent and bitter so you won’t know
Dancing to the pain I harbour
I stay so I can see you one last time
Dreary smiles and chatter leave me weak
Friends who still don’t know
You look at me and my knees leave
Dancing to end the stupid lies
You move and I move with you in my mind
Your laughter is the blood pumping though me
A thousand worlds exist and I am here
Envious of those who get to know you
Dancing to the dredge of laughter
I fall though every precipice you leave behind
Dying every time your fingers move your hair
Sitting as still as I am able
Rolling paper so I am occupied
Dancing to the sorrow of time
Dancing so you think that I don’t mind
