America The Beautiful

To my country I swear my allegiance,
To my God I swear my soul,
To my family I swear protection,
And to myself I swear never to be alone.
Our country has fought and fought,
All over this small planet, third from the sun,
Trying to bring peace and freedom
To those who have none.
Our military has suffered, as well as the people,
Our land has been denied by those here born,
And has been scandalized throughout the world,
And yet we stand tall, our heads held high.
We are the United States of America,
Our colors never run,
We are the land of the free,
Opportunity and hope.
Today we celebrate her glorious birthday,
And know that many more will come,
And we will have the courage to face
Our enemies with brave determination.
So I say without reservation,
Happy birthday America,
This 4th day of July,2007.
