We choose
Not to do,
And, thereby,
Use the silence
As a language
To communicate
With ourselves,

To see,
To hear,
To feel the voice
Of ourselves,
To use our minds,
Our hearts,
Our souls
To know
What to say.

As God Himself said,
'Be still, and know...'
If it is only
A chair in a garden,
A ship at sea,
A walk by the river,
Or a solitary lunch
Beside a brook
With only birdsong
For company,

Or maybe a butterfly,
Who only flew by
To show you his
'Coat of Many Colors..., '
Learn to be still,
Be quiet,
Listen for that Unspoken Voice
Which will tell you
All you need to know.
