all of my rusted parts breaking off like junkyard fodder
I vow for new directions
sun and sky to fill my eyes
scars to heal on my purple heart
a new mind for a clumsy fool, a token
of my own affections bestowed
the wet blanket hung out to dry
I vow for better choices now
now at a sea that breathes for me
brand new life and new destinations
a mountain in the distance
getting closer
a horizon that glows like a golden necklace at sunset
is nothing next to the sorrow that lifts
as I open my arms to the world again at sunrise
