Red is a color of life,
Green and Yellow and also Blue:
Red for life-giving blood
And the rosy flush of cheeks,
Green for the plants
Blanketing the earth,
Yellow for the sunlight
Splashing silently over us,
And Blue for water,
The one thing in this world that
We cannot do without.
Orange is an enthusiastic color,
Animating me to begin something new.
Purple is meditative, while
Indigo (my favorite color, in fact)
Is slightly dark and pessimistic.
Brown is neutral:
The ground is a medium in which
Plants (green) grow with the help of
Water (blue) and
Light (yellow) .
Black is both despairing and warm,
Blinding and frightening unless accepted,
and then as
Comforting and warm as the
Womb in which I was formed.
