You were nothing....
Nothing at all
But a FLASH
In the pan of my life.
You came, you
With your brilliance...
With your lightning strike...
With your blaze of Glory...
Your FLASH in the Pan
Existance...
And, for that one, blinding moment,
You lit up all of my days...
And all of my nights.
And then, just like the lightning
That you were,
You left me,
Alone,
And blinded,
Without any light...
And only the smell
Of burned sulpher,
And roasted heart!

This poem is dedicated to Ray Lucero...whose poem, A FLASH OF ILLUMINATION, gave me the inspiration I needed to face this white, empty page, and write...Thanks, Ray!
