I wept.
A strange word that,
it looks so odd there
on the paper, no sense
of pain, of tears, of heaving
lungs that are so choked
there is no room for air,
just letters sitting gently
on the page, the screen
holding a world of heartbreak
in four letters.
I need.
Oh how I need you.
Some future moment
in my life adding
to the sum of my existence
to echo light with dark
and vice versa
not completing but
enhancing all that we are,
magic shared becomes
unstoppable.
I want.
Another word
with secrets hiding
in its corners, so gentle
a beginning bringing teeth
together, strong statement
at the end makes
an announcement, not needy
does not mean I do not need
I cannot weep, I do not want
companionship.
I feel.
Oh so alone at times,
look sideways in a movie
so the laughter can be shared,
dropp a spoon and pick it up
myself unless some waiter
all observant is nearby
I feel the need, the want
for eyes to smile into, for
arm to cling to when I am tired
never there. I wept.
