That's all he wanted
when he rented a movie
or paid his way
at the local cinema
or read a book
recommended
by a friend or a review
That's not much to want
in this war-torn world
beset by all manner
of catastrophe
from catarrh to cancer
When his time came
he was properly interred
in a faux bronze coffin
in a decent plot
marked by marble
and mourned
by members
of his menage
along with other relics
of free verse
