You really must know;
This secret I'm hiding
It's starting to show.
It has been on my mind
I can take it no more;
I must tell you somehow
Before it bursts through the door.
It's oozing out of cracks
In small and different ways;
It has been building over time
For many long and joyful days.
I think you might know
What this secret may be;
I'm trying to tell you
What I think of thee.
Truly, I can think
Of nothing but you;
It's what I've been hiding
And it's totally true.
It's time to reveal
This secret affection;
So it will not kill me
Like a deadly infection.
I say this mainly
Because it's so true;
The secret I've been hiding
Is that I love you!
