The heart weeps,
For itself; its bearer,
Giving vent to the feelings,
Of loss, despair,
And sadness unbearable,
But the face smiles,
The lips turned in an upward curve,
The words flow smoothly,
Revealing nothing,
Masking the sorrow,
The hurt inside,
But the eyes tell the truth,
Revealing all,
The secrets,
The burning truths,
The agonizing details,
The eyes are empty,
As if dead; gazing,
Somewhere far away,
In a different world,
Where the heart weeps,
And the soul writhes in agony,
The eyes see it all,
And give away the secrets,
Of the hurt inside,
The windows of the soul,
They are pale; no more alive,
They have lost all their shine.
