Should turn off the light
but rather than
toss and turn all night
reach for the pen
Cannot find the words
to express
Don't want to write
lonely or unhappiness
Perhaps what I
am trying to say
Is I am grateful
I am doing okay
For the ones I love
I trust
in your care
to protect
I will continue
in this calm
Keep them safe
from every harm
Pillow so soft
bed so warm
shut down for now
till dusk is dawn
