As the winter's moonlight falls
Upon the crisp and frozen ground,
We share the night beneath the stars
Which shine so high above,
For as we walk the empty streets
We gaze unto the evening sky,
To see their greatness there displayed
And thank them for our love.
Although the night does feel so cold
While you are there I shall be warm,
And sense those lonely times no more,
Nor feel that bitter chill,
With memories left within the past
I look towards the future now,
And hope each day shall bring me joy
And pray it is God's will.
The puddles iced beside the kerb
And cracked like many dreams before,
But they will thaw as morning sun
Does greet the coming dawn,
Yet as the winter's moonlight falls
The way ahead seems crystal clear,
I feel the stars were made for us
For love this night was born.
