In this old house with faded blue walls
Dirty storm windows and carpeted halls
Silence screams loudly in every room
Among the ashes of love once in bloom
Sorrow seduced me late in the fall
Love packed in boxes destroying it all
A mistress called loneliness comes every night
Holding me coldly till morning light
Like a ghost, I haunt empty rooms
Filling my lungs with her sweet perfume
If I listen carefully, I can still hear
Her soft voice whispering so clear in my ear
I feel her presence for such a short while
Nevertheless, I am unable to smile
Her memories are fading yet I hold on tight
Cursing cruel death that took her that night
