The heartbeat
of another night
waiting for you
skips,
falters,
then steadies.
The rustling of leaves,
the mocking wind,
the cheeky wink of every star
reminds me
of you.
And my heart
skips,
falters,
then enters my mouth
in a silent plea.
Who am I kidding here,
who am I lost within
as deeply without
I am walking the night
alone.
And into the darkness
my heart
skips,
falters,
then dies.
