Gordon D Wilkinson - As We Crawl Into Bed

As we crawl into bed after such a long day
Clasping my hands around your waist, kiss you and say
Honey I missed your voice and smile
Can we just lay here and talk awhile
Naked as we laid there just chatting, caressing
I really thank you for your love and blessing
I kiss your cheek and my lips start to wander
To your throat, kissing, going I meander
Like a nomad roaming across the land
None of the journey I’ve started planned
Into the valley of your breast
Like a bird, I start to nest
Across the pinnacles with success
Ever forwards I do progress
The plains of desire I cross so slowly with care
Skirting the whirlpool in the centre there
Gliding down, hesitating a detour here I take
The thighs of Venus do awake
I stop just take a breather
A quandary, which way, either
Those knees so perfect in form
Back to the top where I came from
Guess I’m making your heartbeat so fast
The union we make, long may it last
Pulsating rhythms go on and on
Energy expended until it is gone
Laying here after such a long night
I turn to you holding you tight
Honey I say – guess we missed breakfast today
