Carousel
Pondering horses on circular courses
A purpose with nowhere to go
Their manes set flailing, faces detailing
Refusing to heed to the whoa
Butterfly travels on opulent saddles
Tiny faces exposing their heart
Some feign distraction others crave action
The youngest need help at the start
Ticketed haste to a Wurlitzer pace
In air pumped with confection
The children exact, while their parents react
To a landscape of shifting complexion
Impressions regale, the innocence unveiled
A periphery of luster and worn smooth brass
Memories made on one perfect day
And you yearned it would never pass
