There are too many gods
Vying for position
In the feeble minds of
Much too believing
Men
One or the other is always
Right
Alternatively damned and worshipped
In the exchange of breath from
Brother to brother
Sword to unyielding sword
Innocents pay the price
And God himself
(If indeed he has a heart)
Stands aghast
Stooped in the gore of his once beautiful
Creation.
