Talon toes grasp grass
As something cartwheels inside
hits my stomach, loops over my ribs
and nearly falls back into place.
Head somersaulting spins
Arms stretch to tingling airwaves
which crackle static-charged
and I’m not earthed…floating…
in the dark but lit
by flashy lights who
dance with me,
waltzing on the water
fox-trotting and tripping the light fantastic.
Swans and ducks and geese
observe the craziness languidly
they’ve seen it all before.
That moment of romantic recognition
Alive and pulsating
Spinning and drifting
and in love.
