You tell me to take a chance
but then you run away
you hint toward romance
but show me only grey
'there really isn't anything
that would keep me here'
she says only to bring
to my eye, a tear
'I want a cowboy
and you're not one of those'
she says, my grief to employ
and sorrow to compose
my response is solitude
my reply, silence
her reaction is a multitude
resulting in a thicker fence
I can't get through
I never could
but you don't care do you
I never thought you would
