REM, the drowsy otter,
Slips into a sleep pool
Brimming with dreams.
Dives deep, green and weedy,
Through landscapes of memory,
Longing and desire,
Leaping suddenly between the strange
And the familiar,
Until, air breather that he is,
He must surface
Or he will drown.
