Spread out comfortably on the couch,
Eating a Costco sized bag of chips,
Striving to reach the center of that tootsie pop,
Wondering, damn, how many more licks,
Channel surfing, implementing exercise of the thumb,
To do nothing all day, oh what fun!
You’d go out, but it’s raining, no sign of the sun,
There goes your daily Vitamin D,
You are stuck inside, yet, in a way, you are also free,
The cell phone is ringing; there goes that ringtone,
It emanates perfection; after all, it’s an iphone,
Pick up! You can use the company,
What movie to watch, there are so many,
Spread out comfortably on the couch,
Eating a Costco sized bag of chips,
Striving to reach the center of that tootsie pop,
Wondering, damn, how many more licks,
Oh no, where is that remote?
Next time, write its location on a sticky note!
Lost it again, for the 100th time,
So many lapses in memory,
I need to exercise my brain, or I'll soon be history
As you ponder this question, you get a dose of TMZ,
All of a sudden, you lost that urge to pee,
Indeed, quite engaged in the gossip at hand,
So in thought, your mind behaves as if sinking in quick sand,
Spread out comfortably on the couch,
Eating a Costco sized bag of chips,
Striving to reach the center of that tootsie pop,
Wondering, damn, how many more licks,
What a couch potato!
**Another poem, with the intent to crack a smile, again. Enjoy! :)
