Bitter cold outside, thoughts of going out makes me shirk
I wonder why I have to go to work
Snow boots, cap and a heavy coat; on myself I heap
I too wish I had some fleece, like that of a fattened sheep
With my favorite program on the television, into the couch I shrink
It couldn’t be more perfect if I brought myself a chocolate drink
Winter is for making a snowman and slinging snowballs at each other
Make the best of it NOW; you, the avalanche of time can smother
When it’s hot and humid we wish it were rainy
We desire for what we have not; that is life’s irony
Spring brings new life; summer full bloom
In autumn colors ebb; winter is comparatively a gloom
Seasons are welcome and to evolve they are necessary
It is a natural course and nothing at all to worry
A new season hails, winter ends, yet none I call as mine
With hope of warmth, someday, somewhere, I console my heart and recline.
