In a dream I am alive
Sometimes laughing and sometimes crying
Who is that who is wide awake?
And who is that who is sleeping?
Are dreams just another fantasy
My mind telling me fibs
So real is the fear from a nightmare when I awaken
My heart pounding against my ribs
What is a dream can anyone tell me
A reality or an illusion
A memory of a long lost past
Or of an event is it a premonition?
My happiest dreams are those in which
I’m weightless and I can fly
In frightful dreams I’m deep in peril caught
And can not escape no matter how hard I try
The worst dream of all however is that
Of an exam not attended
The subject was always mathematics
That which I always dreaded
In my dream I argue with myself
And try to come to my senses
I’m in the exam hall so vividly
Searching my place among the benches
The question paper I look in horror
With fear I begin to hiccup
It’s a dream I know for sure
All I need to do is wake up
In my dream I somehow realize
I already have secured my degree
Almost everyone is scared of exams
What a relief it was I’m sure you’ll agree!
I awaken from my slumber
And sit and think for a while
It was only a dream and not for real
I thank my stars and smile
If a dream could feel so real
Then what about this Creation?
Is it Ultimate Reality?
Or is it just another Illusion?
Existence is the only truth
Life’s not real as is does seem
Reality is in another realm
I am now living within a dream
This dream vanishes when I awaken
It lasts as long as I sleep
I enter everlasting light on death
This hope in my heart I keep
