Darkness, will it pass as night?
pain and numbness mingle now,
dreams are numbered, out of order,
sweat upon his furrowed brow.
A khaki shroud now crimson stained,
the crucifix upon his lips
trembling fingers catch a breath
tasting life with fingertips
Darkness, will it pass as night?
pain receding, see the light,
skirl of bagpipes, echo, calling,
closes yet again the night..
