4 bombs explode, inside Iraq,
39 are dead.
Planted by extremists,
is what the papers said.
1 inside a cement bag,
another in a car.
Between them they killed 16,
and many more are scarred.
2 more booby-trapped lorries,
exploded in a village.
And no-one can justify,
the mindless human spillage.
A list of facts and figures,
reported in the news.
But the families of those whom have died,
what about their views.
Does their voice ever get heard?
Who takes time to ask?
The little children orphaned by,
the bombers deadly blast.
No-one reports their misery.
No-one reports their grief.
Is it because their stories will be,
So far beyond belief?
But the papers will continue,
to report on numbers lost.
And never tell the stories of,
the ones who feel the loss.
And we’ll continue reading,
the facts and figures written.
But really we should all hear,
accounts of those grief stricken.
