As they swear at you about you and your deen,
As they kick you and hit your head, as it starts to bleed,
If you don’t have enough energy to make Du’aa,
Just keep saying, “A’oodhu bIllaah.” (I seek refuge in Allaah) .
Close your eyes and think of Allah and His reward,
Thinking of pleasing Him with sabr, that we can all afford,
Think of Jannah, a blessed place to be,
No matter how hard you try to imagine, your eyes will not see!
Let your tears flow, let them flow,
Down, down, onto the ground they must go.
Hold onto to your heart, it might hurt a little now,
Hold onto your Islam, it mustn’t slip now,
Think of Allaah and Jannah’s door,
Just this and no more.
Once it’s over, as it indeed will be,
Or even when the pain begins to ease,
Say “Alhamdulillaah” (All praise be to Allah) for a little while,
And through your tearful eyes, your tongue will say, “I can still smile.”
