My heart burned and burned
Fuelled by logs of anguish,
Fanned by winds of despair
Fed by juice of my guts.
The fire spread like a bushfire
That intergalactic fire
With hungry flames dire
Raring to devour cosmos
Or our world nailed on cross.

The fire became intense
And my blood became incense.
The sun too was in confusion
And wondered aloud, fission or fusion.
He too came to borrow the heat
And ashamed volcanoes rubbed their feet.

The scientist Accused me for global warming
The farmers Blamed me for poor farming
The people Charged me for world-wide starving
The governments Damned me for grievous harming.

Suddenly alarm hummed
like a drummer
And I woke up from slumber
To find the heater turn on
In midst of summer.
