If people could see my heart

I'm surprised it took this long
I'm glad I have these love marks to share
It tells me to be a better man
And to have a new plan
And to be the best I can
The only way I get a mark
Is if i feel a spark
That I never felt
The one that'll make me melt
The impression you created
By doing something strange
Or makin' me change
Left me with a mark in exchange
If I had a mark for every girl
It would be two
One was a mistake
And the other was my future boo
She still makes me think
How cute she looks in pink
She was my shining star
