Tonight you are my poet,
I am your words and the world is ours
Let us make this a night of a thousand hours
United together, we will write a sonnet
Come, my heart, understand me through your acronyms
when I place my meaning on them
compose me with your poetic state of rem
When I reach closer with more synonyms
Bathe in my never-ending verbal musk
Drowning in the husky flow
As I bask in your poetry glow
until the silver of dawn rises from the gold of dusk
Pour out your heart now
I am waiting….feeling your heart racing
Listening to its beat ……I am breathing
Kindle my flammable words, to allow
the sparks of Collins and Webster to unite in flames
And together we can produce new vocabulary
to brighten the pages of your anthology
so to keep the poetic fire burning with more rhymes
because I have been dreaming of this glorious night
ever since the beginning of my life
The time of wish fulfilment and rife
Of literature, meeting with a literary knight
Surely the world will remember the first time in passing
When a poet made love to his words ….and they became his destiny?
And so our names will be engraved in history,
Endless….. perhaps more than everlasting!
