never finding an escape
to this past so haunting
the pain felt so deep inside
cuts like shards of broken glass
trying to push its way out
your words always echoing
how they were so threatening
still living in so much fear
waking up terrified and trembling
from nightmares so vividly clear
your presence still closely lingers
its completely suffocating
memories of your sickening touch
still burns my skin and makes it crawl
aching to escape from it all
sharp razor blade to my skin
slices another cut so deep
for a moment i feel sweet release
too soon again shame overtakes
i know from this i will never escape
forever trapped, prisoner to my pain
