Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton came out to defend his company on Friday (December 19) after U.S. President Barack Obama said the entertainment giant made a "mistake" in yanking "The Interview" from movie theaters.
During an interview with CNN Lynton said that while they wanted to show the film, they had no choice after movie theater chains had said they would not show the film after hackers made threats against cinemas and audiences.
The cyber attack on Sony, more than three weeks ago, rendered thousands of Sony's computers inoperable, stole proprietary information as well as published confidential and embarrassing e-mails.
