"What Cards Can´t See" was the screenplay chosen by the Pitching Board in the 2nd semester of 2009. The idea was to make students work in every area of filmmaking, switching roles every semester and to alow students to manage production money. For this movie, the university gave us R$1.500 ( about $500) to spend on art objects, hire a film electrician and pay for food for the whole crew.
I was the production designer´s assistant, in charge of Make-Up and Costume Design; but ended up doing most of the production part. We found a gipsy community here in Brasilia and studied it for about a month before shooting the film. We even got the original soundtrack from a gipsy singer called Ronn Marques.
