The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) announced on Thursday that they would raise the minimum recruitment age and no longer accept minors under 17 years of age into their ranks. The previous age cutoff was 15. The rebels urged the government to also raise the minimum age for the Colombian armed forces.
