An Air Force Veteran named Michael Maroney is hoping social media will help him reconnect with a girl he rescued about a decade ago during Hurricane Katrina. A photo showing the then tiny, smiling girl with her arms wrapped around his neck, appeared on a magazine cover and on phone cards.
The image was taken by a military photographer after Maroney rescued the girl and her family from their home which had been destroyed by the storm.
