After his collaboration with Jessie Evans for a string of live shows in July 2011, Budgie started rehearsing with Danish indie rock group EFTERKLANG in mid-May 2012 in Berlin, Germany replacing drummer Toby Dammit who had to step in and help THE STOOGES with their tour. EFTERKLANG (a name coming from the Danish word for "remembrance" or "reverberation") are a trio from Copenhagen, Denmark that was then consisted of singer Casper Clausen, bassist Rasmus Stolberg and mutli-instrumentalist Mads Brauer.
On 26 May 2012, the World Premiere of EFTERKLANG’s fourth studio album ‘Piramida’ took place at Sydney Opera House in Australia. The sold-out concert had been commissioned by Vivid Live Festival and featured Peter Broderick on piano, Budgie on drums, Katinka Fogh Vindelev singing, with the accompany of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra conducted by Matthew Coorey.
The evening's success gave the Danish trio the opportunity to take this unique performance around the globe. Augmented by the inclusion of the three aforementioned, magnificent artists, the EFTERKLANG live band embarked in a series of shows, dubbed 'The Piramida Concerts', in September 2012 performing the album live in its entirety worldwide together with classical orchestras each time.
For this touring Budgie was the session drummer up until the end of October 2012, when he was replaced since he couldn’t tour with the band from December and onwards. In this video Budgie is rehearsing a new song in mid-May 2012 in Berlin, Germany.
