Two weeks after the Islamic State group attacked the Yarmouk refugee camp, Pierre Krahenbul, the General Commissioner of the United Nations Refugee Agency, UNRWA, visited Syria to cooperate with the Syrian government in assisting the trapped people. The Commissioner laid the blame on armed Palestinian groups within the camps for aggravating the violence, while the Syrian government and the UNRWA attribute the difficulty in finding a solution to differences of opinion among Palestinian groups and possible Western influence on some of the groups involved.
