Colombia's Broad Front for Peace says that hundreds of deaths and non-fatal casualties have been avoided as a result of the unilateral cease fire proclaimed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). The peace coalition is calling on the government to accept the rebel proposal for an indefinite bilateral truce. Concern has been voiced in civil society over the government's decision to resume airstrikes against rebel positions following a clash last week between the two sides.
