A new law aimed at beefing up France's intelligence surveillance for counter-terrorism purposes is proving divisive with criticism coming from across the political spectrum. It goes before the National Assembly this Monday and will be voted on on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, the National Front weighs up the possibility of gagging its founder and former leader Jean-Marie Le Pen and François Hollande visits Qatar after doing a nice piece of business, selling 24 Rafale jets to the Gulf emirate.
