Asha gets pregnant. Everyone is happy in the family but Sudha is very jealous of Asha as she wanted to be the first “bahu” to give birth to a child. Sudha tries to kill Asha by cutting iron wire, thinking she would get a shock and die while ironing. But because of the power failure, she was saved. Devki’s behavior is totally changed towards Asha and Sudha. Devki started pampering Asha. She always humiliates Sudha. Due to Devki’s biased behavior , Sudha gets more and more frustrated. She feels that she is treated like a servant just because she can not conceive. She then convinces her husband Rajesh to plan for a baby. She consults a doctor and even tries to get in to black magic but fails to conceive. She is over frustrated as she can not conceive. She tries to kill Asha by suffocating her with a pillow while she has fallen asleep.
