Hundreds of thousands of Mexicans are deported from the United States each year. Other Mexican immigrants return home voluntarily for a host of reasons. They feel the job skills they have learned in the United States will benefit them when seeking employment in Mexico. But the reality is often quite different. Back home, the returning migrants often face discrimination and a refusal to recognize their work-related experience or paperwork.
