Who decides if you have to have surgery?
If as a result of your worker's compensation accident you require surgery and the doctor says that you need surgery, you are not obligated to have that surgery. It is your decision as to whether or not you want to have it.
Many of my clients do not want to have the surgery because they are afraid of the outcome. They are afraid that the doctor cannot guarantee that they might be just like they were before the accident.
So, if you do not want to have the surgery because you are scared whether it is the shoulder or back, that is your prerogative. You do not have to have the surgery, it's up to you.
