Ecuador's right-wing opposition has vowed to continue its protests against two proposed taxes that would redistribute income even though President Rafael Correa has temporarily suspended the measures. Correa said the persistence of inequality in Ecuadoran society was intolerable and needs to be urgently addressed and called for a national debate on the proposed inheritance and capital gains taxes.
