Along with the new sustainability report Volkswagen Group for the first time presents the largest low-CO2 fleet worldwide comprising 57 model variants.
Before the European policy set its CO2 benchmarks for 2020, Volkswagen as the world’s first automaker had already committed itself to the ambitious goal of reducing its European new-car fleet-average emissions to 95 g CO2/km by that year. The 57 model variants mentioned above already meet these standards and achieve an impressive mileage of more than 57 mpg (gasoline: over 57 mpg, diesel: over 65 mpg). The XL1 for example is able to travel 100 km on one litre of diesel which equals an astonishing 313 mpg.
