NASA holds a briefing on the New Horizons’ mission to Pluto at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland. On July, 14 the New Horizons space probe flew past Pluto at close range, passing only 12,500 kilometers (7,750 miles) above the dwarf planet on the outskirts of the solar system.
