A record drought in the American state of California has prompted the government to introduce stricter rules for water consumption.
Despite the drastic situation, water consumption by oil and fracking companies remains untouched. They claim the water they mix with chemicals and pump into the ground to extract gas and oil, can be cleaned and could be re-used in agriculture.
But as RT's Lindsey France found out, not all farmers are happy about the solution.
