Guatemala’s Attorney General called for the impeachment of current President Otto Perez Molina on Friday due to his involvement in a massive corruption scandal. The call came just after the announcement of the arrest of former Vice President Roxana Baldetti, who resigned on May 8 after her private secretary, Juan Carlos Monzon, was accused of heading a scheme to reduce importers’ customs duties in exchange for bribes.
