Many making it to Europe were forced to flee their homes in the search for asylum. They mainly come from recognised 'refugee-producing' countries. Despite that, many EU officials prefer to label them 'migrants'. Many media outlets also use the word 'migrants' during their reports on the refugee crisis in Europe. So, refugee or migrant - what's the difference?
