A coastal carpet python was discovered by a plumber after a recently cut section of pipe was thrown to the ground from around 13 feet up.
That’s where Rowan, with the Northern Rivers Wildlife Carers, stepped in.
He began with a saw, but that was a bit too perilous—one wrong move would have cut directly into the snake.
Next he used a drill, but that quickly lost its edge.
The local fire department was consulted, however, their tools were too big.
After some trial and error, he found that wire cutters worked best.
