Kryetari i PS, Edi Rama, i bën thirrje faktorit ndërkombëtar qe te jete vigjilent për procesin e ardhshëm elektoral ne Shqipëri. Këtë shqetësim Rama e ka përcjellë gjate një takimi me liderët e Ballkanit, ku ndodhej edhe kreu i LSI Meta dhe qe zhvillohet ne kuadër te kongresit te socialisteve evropiane. Ne tryezën ku ishte i pranishëm edhe komisioneri për zgjerimin Stefan Fule, Rama mbështeti procesin e integrimit duke theksuar se qytetaret shqiptare e meritojnë statusin e vendit kandidat. "Jemi plotësisht të vetëdijshëm, siç është plotësisht besoj i vetëdijshëm edhe Komisioni, pasi e ka shkruar të zezë në të bardhë, që problemi i Shqipërisë nuk janë në fund të fundit ligjet, por është mungesa e zbatimit të ligjit. Dhe në funksion të një integrimi që duhet të reflektohet në cilësinë e jetës së qytetarëve në procesin demokratik në Shqipëri, në institucionet që duhet t'u shërbejnë qytetarëve është padyshim e domosdoshme, që Komisioni, Bashkimi Evropian, Partia Socialiste Evropiane të vigjilojnë për të mos lejuar që i gjithë ky proces dhe i gjithë ky kontribut i opozitës në këtë proces të shpërdorohet dhe të kthehet në një proces që nuk ka impakt në jetën e qytetarëve shqiptarë," u shpreh Rama. Lideri i PS e ka bere te qarte tashme se opozita do te kontribuoje për integrimin e vendit dhe se Shqipëria duhet ta marre statusin e kandidatit për qytetaret e saj dhe jo për qeverinë.
