Venezuela’s ruling socialist party, the PSUV plans to sue the Democratic Action Party (AD) for slander. Immediately after the murder of AD politician and opposition leader Luis Manuel Diaz, the Secretary General of the AD, Henry Ramos, publicly stated that Diaz was killed by armed PSUV gangs, yet provided no evidence to back up his accusation. A preliminary investigation by Venezuelan authorities revealed that the assassination may have been perpetrated by the armed criminal group Plateados, with which Diaz has had dealings. teleSUR
